Lion's Gate Portal 2026: A Gateway into Your Next Chapter

The Lion's Gate Portal has become one of my favorite times of the year. I love using it as an opportunity to pause, reconnect with my heart, and intentionally reflect on the life I'm creating. Rather than treating it as a day to simply "manifest more," I see it as a chance to align my actions, mindset, and energy with the future I'm working toward.

Last year's Lion's Gate was especially meaningful for me.

During the 2025 portal, I set three intentions:

• Write and publish my book.

• Develop my Empress Embodiment framework.

• Expand my creative expression and create more of what I genuinely enjoy (here we are now! In this online guide!)

Looking back a year later, each of those intentions has come to life. Of course, it wasn't because I wrote them down on August 8 and the universe delivered them overnight. They became reality through months of aligned action, trust, growth, and consistently returning to the vision I set during this portal.

That's why I return to Lion's Gate each year. It reminds me to reconnect with what truly matters, release what no longer aligns, and intentionally step forward with courage and an open heart.

I hope this guide inspires you to do the same, and I can't wait to see what seeds you plant during this year's Lion's Gate.

A Little Background Info 

Each year, the Lion's Gate Portal opens as the Sun moves through Leo and Sirius (the brightest star in our sky) becomes highly visible. Ancient Egyptians associated Sirius with the annual flooding of the Nile, a time of fertility, abundance, and new life.

Today, many spiritual traditions view this period (roughly July 29–August 12, peaking on August 8) as a symbolic opportunity to align with your highest potential.

This year's portal carries additional significance because August 8, 2026 forms a rare "Triple 8" (8/8/2026 → 8), amplifying themes of abundance, empowerment, manifestation, leadership, and karmic responsibility.

Just four days later, a Solar Eclipse in Leo (August 12) marks the beginning of a new chapter, making this Lion's Gate feel less like a single day of manifestation and more like the threshold between an old identity and the life you're growing into.

At its heart, Lion's Gate is not about magically attracting things from the universe. It's about becoming the version of yourself who is naturally capable of receiving them.

Leo reminds us that manifestation begins with authenticity. It asks us to stop dimming our light, waiting for permission, or seeking external validation, and instead lead from the heart. The portal invites you to express your creativity, own your gifts, trust your intuition, and remember that your worth isn't determined by productivity, popularity, or other people's opinions.

This is why many teachings emphasize embodiment over wishing. Rather than simply making a vision board or writing a list of desires, you're encouraged to ask:

• Who am I becoming?

• What identity am I ready to release?

• What future version of myself am I choosing today?

• What beliefs are no longer compatible with that future?

Manifestation during Lion's Gate is viewed as a process of alignment.

As old fears, limiting beliefs, perfectionism, scarcity, or outdated identities are released, space is created for new opportunities to emerge. The invitation isn't to force outcomes but to clear away what prevents you from receiving what's already trying to find you.

The number 8 reinforces this message. Symbolizing infinity, abundance, personal power, and the relationship between the spiritual and material worlds, it reminds us that abundance isn't simply something we acquire: it's something we learn to embody. True prosperity grows from self-worth, integrity, courage, and aligned action.

Because of the upcoming Leo Solar Eclipse, many astrologers and spiritual teachers suggest that this portal is especially focused on identity shifts.

Rather than chasing external success, you're planting the seeds for a version of yourself that will naturally create different results over the coming months. The eclipse then acts as a catalyst, helping those intentions take root in tangible ways.

Practically, this is considered an ideal time to:

• Get clear about what you genuinely desire.

• Release habits, beliefs, or identities you've outgrown.

• Visualize your future self with as much detail as possible.

• Journal, meditate, pull tarot or oracle cards, and practice gratitude.

• Take one meaningful, aligned action toward your goals, however small.

Ultimately, the Lion's Gate Portal asks one central question:

If the life you desire already exists, who must you become to meet it?

In that sense, the portal is less about opening a doorway somewhere outside of you and more about opening one within yourself. It invites you to lead with your heart, trust your inner light, and consciously step into the next version of your life with courage, authenticity, and a willingness to receive.

Lion's Gate Ritual 

1. Prepare Your Space 

Light a candle, make yourself a cup of ceremonial cacao or tea, diffuse an oil you enjoy, and play music that helps you feel grounded and expansive.

You might place on your altar:

• A candle (fire/Leo)

• Fresh flowers (sunflowers, yellow rose petals, or any other flowers that inspire you to embrace your light)

• A bowl of water

• Your journal

• Tarot deck

• A crystal or two (see recommended crystals below)

• Anything symbolic of your future self 

Take several slow breaths and ask:

"May I see myself clearly today. May I release what no longer belongs to me and receive what my soul is ready to hold."

2. Ground Into Your Body

Before trying to manifest anything, spend a few minutes arriving in your body.

Ideas:

• Meditation (download my free Lion’s Gate activation meditation HERE.)

• Gentle stretching or yoga

• Dance to one song and shake out old energy

• Sit outside in the morning sun & absord the sun's radiance

• Place one hand on your heart and one on your lower abdomen and take slow, deep breaths.

Ask yourself:

"How does my future self feel in her body?"

Notice what comes up.

3. Future Self Visualization 

Imagine yourself one year from now.

Picture:

• Your home

• Your work

• Your finances

• Your relationships

• Your energy

• Your confidence

• Your daily routine

Rather than focusing on possessions, notice:

• How do you walk?

• How do you make decisions?

• What boundaries do you naturally hold?

• What feels easy now?

Stay there for several minutes before writing everything down.

4. Release Ceremony

On a separate page write: "I release..."

Examples:

• needing outside validation

• scarcity

• perfectionism

• fear of visibility

• overthinking

• comparison

• urgency

• old identities

Then safely burn or tear up the paper.

5. Write Your Intentions

Instead of writing: "I want..."

Write: "I am becoming..."

Examples:

• I am becoming a woman who receives with ease.

• I am becoming an embodied leader.

• I create from joy rather than pressure.

• Money flows where my authentic gifts create value.

• My work transforms lives while nourishing my own.

Focus on identity, not outcomes.

6. Take One Physical Action

Before the day ends, do one thing your future self would do. Manifestation is embodied by action, not sitting around and waiting for something to happen. Initiate and integrate the changes you are calling in! 

Examples:

• Publish something

• Email someone

• Organize your finances

• Work on a creative project

• Apply for an opportunity

• Do yoga

• Clean your bedroom or workspace

Manifestation becomes much more tangible when paired with action.
